About the event

The Testing Ground Ignition - Amateur Muay Thai Fight Event.

🔥 Testing Ground: Ignition – Where the Journey Ignites 🔥

From the grit and raw energy of the Smoker, where fighters take their very first steps under the lights, the journey now accelerates. Ignition is the moment where experience turns into ambition — where every round has meaning, every strike has weight, and every win fuels the climb.

Here, raw talent meets real challenge. The sparks from your Smoker battles ignite into a roaring flame, propelling you toward higher divisions and greater glory. The crowd is louder, the stakes are higher, and your fight story burns brighter.

Be there when the engine starts. Witness the next chapter!

Testing Ground: Ignition brings the heat all year long — a dynamic tournament series where fighters go head-to-head, earn their place, and battle to become the undisputed champion of their weight class.

18. Adherence to officials' directions is mandatory.

19. Knees to the body are allowed for all fighters; knees to the head are not permitted.

20. Elbows are allowed to the body for fighters 18+ years of age—no elbows at all for under-18 fighters.

  2. If, after three cautions, the mouth guard is dislodged or falls out, the fighter will be disqualified for safety reasons and will be deemed TKO'd.

  3. Groin shots from kicks are legal in Muay Thai - but heavily frowned upon. Hence, any deliberate strike to the groin will result in a pause to the fight.

Any glances or near-strikes to the groin will result in the referee resetting the fighters, who will then signal action/fight. Any use of this rule by deception (acting) to get a rest or break from the fight action will not be tolerated. Protect yourself at all times. Invest in a quality groin guard.

46. Fighters under 16 do not require a blood test unless there is a reason to believe one is needed. In that case, a safety-first approach is warranted.

Weigh-In and Medical

  1. It is an amateur competition. Fighters are weighed on the day of the competition. Fight officials will administer spot checks of fighters during the event. This is to help ensure the safety of all of the fighters. Fighters competing in this event are expected to fight in a weight division that matches their walk-around weight. Heavyweight cutting for fights comes with many risks. This is an amateur fight show that promotes fighters' health and well-being. Our focus is on building fighters up via a progressive competition structure.

  2. Fighters are required to have blood test results showing they are free of HIV (p24 antigen and HIV 1+2 antibodies), Hep B (HBsAg) & C. The test results must be within 12 months of the fight date, and a copy of the original serology results must be ready at least 1 week before the official weigh-in. Fighters are to present their blood test results to the medic(s) during the medical check.

Fighters are required to pass a medical inspection by the event medics. Only fighters who are declared fit and able to fight will be eligible to compete.

  3. We suggest that fighters make it a regular practice to be checked by their medical practitioner(s) and to have their vitals screened. To help ensure that they are fit and able to fight. The event's medical check is not a substitute for regular health, fitness, and wellness checks for the fighters of this event.
